Meet the team

Mukund Awati – President

Mukund Awati

I live in South Windsor with my wife Deepali, son Maitreya (UCONN Freshman) and daughter Maithilee (High school Sophmore). We have been CT residents pretty much since 2004, except couple smaller stays in PA and India.
I have strong interest in social / cultural events participation and event management as well. I have handled corporate events with 400+ associates for few years, so I think joining CTMM Executive Committee will be a mutually benefitting engagement.

Sneha Suryawanshi – Vice President

Sneha Suryawanshi

I live in Ridgefield with my husband, Sunil. We love the visits from our two amazing kids who have flown from the nest. Over the past 25 years, we’ve hosted and participated in multiple CTMM events. I started a Marathi Shala in Danbury and taught there for a few years. I also enjoyed designing and maintaining the first few versions of our CTMM website. Additionally, I worked on first few editions of Gajara, the CTMM Publication.
CTMM is a hub of rich Marathi culture within CT and I feel blessed to be a part of CTMM community. It has become like an extended family to us. I’m very excited about CTMM’s future and look forward to serving as Vice President.

Kunal Dabhade – Executive Committee Member

I’m Kunal Dabhade. I absolutely love how CTMM brings fellow Maharashtrians in CT together. I have a fair share of experience acting in plays, hosting events and also be an accompanying singer during various cultural programs since college though not professionally. Harmony, organization and creativity are some of the qualities I’ve always been associated with. It is fun to be part of the CTMM team and also provides an opportunity to serve our wider community to some extent.
